Report from Leadership Circle

Leadership Circle has made two decisions related to staffing and CDC credentialing.

• We have asked Staff Relations to work with Pastor Phil and Pastor Carrie to change her title to Associate Pastor (dropping “interim”). The process thus far has been a congregational discussion on May 7, 2023 after church and a survey to get feedback from the congregation. Based on overwhelming support, we approved a motion asking Staff Relations to bring to us a formal proposal with updated job descriptions for both Phil and Carrie to our August meeting. [Phil’s title will not change, but everyone agreed that updated job descriptions for both positions will help FMC align the emerging roles.] If approved at the Leadership Circle meeting in August, a congregational meeting will be scheduled to confirm a call to Carrie as Associate Pastor.
• Chaska Yoder requested affirmation of FMC for her application to Central District Conference for licensing for ordination. On behalf of the congregation, Leadership Circle approved Chaska’s request and affirmed her ministry of hospital chaplaincy.
